The Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination (TBJEE) successfully conducted the Tripura Joint Entrance Examination (TJEE) 2025 on Wednesday, April 23, with 5,296 students appearing across the state. The entrance examination, a critical academic event for students aspiring to secure admission into various professional degree courses in engineering, medical, agriculture, veterinary, and other allied fields, was conducted peacefully at multiple centers, according to TBJEE officials.
Speaking to the media, TBJEE Chairman Dr. Subhadeep Paul confirmed that the examination was conducted smoothly across 15 designated centers in Tripura. “The examinations were held without any disruption. All necessary arrangements were made to ensure fairness and transparency in the conduct of the test,” Dr. Paul stated.
Gender and Group-Wise Candidate Distribution
Of the total 5,296 candidates, the gender-wise breakup indicates a marginally higher participation of female candidates, with 2,781 females and 2,515 male candidates. This reflects a growing trend of increased participation of female students in competitive and academic examinations in the state.
644 students registered under the PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) group.
3,085 candidates opted for the PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) group.
1,604 students appeared for both PCM and PCB groups, showcasing the ambition of students to keep options open across medical and engineering disciplines.
Examination Schedule and Timings
The TJEE 2025 examination was conducted in three sessions on the same day:
The day began with the Physics and Chemistry papers, held between 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM.
This was followed by the Biology paper, scheduled from 1:30 PM to 2:15 PM.
Lastly, the Mathematics paper was conducted from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM.
All sessions were completed on time, and no delays or untoward incidents were reported from any of the examination centers. The board made adequate arrangements for security and invigilation to ensure the integrity of the examination process.
Examination Centers Across the State
A total of 15 centers were set up across the state for conducting TJEE 2025. The West Tripura district hosted the majority of the centers, while the remaining were distributed evenly among the other districts to ensure accessibility for students from all regions.
The state government, along with TBJEE officials, took meticulous steps to ensure hassle-free transport, smooth entry and exit protocols, and availability of emergency services near the examination venues. Parents accompanying candidates also appreciated the arrangements made for seating and refreshments outside examination halls.

When questioned about the declaration of results, Dr. Paul mentioned that the processing of answer sheets would begin shortly after the examination day. While an exact date has not been declared, candidates can expect results to be announced within a few weeks.

While this year saw 5,296 examinees, last year’s figure was slightly higher, with close to 6,000 students appearing for the examination. However, education analysts observe that the Tripura JEE continues to be an important route for local students seeking affordable and quality education opportunities within and around the region.
Post the result announcement, TBJEE will begin the counseling process, where candidates will be allotted seats in different professional colleges based on their ranks and subject preferences.
